Winter Ice

For many people, the winter season brings with it the prospect of ice and snow. Ice skating is a fun and healthy way to enjoy the winter weather. In addition to being a great workout, this activity is also a great way to pass the time. In addition, the winter season can also be a challenge for motorists.

When driving in the winter, it’s best to keep tires that are designed for ice and snow. Regular tires will lose their grip as temperatures drop. It’s important to have winter tires installed on your vehicle, so you can have reliable braking and good traction. Firestone offers winter tires that are built to withstand the freezing temperatures of winter.

While some families had to bring shovels to clear the ice, others enjoyed the free skating.

While skating on Mill Pond has been limited by the changing climate, the town continues to provide another alternative for its residents. Some area municipalities have banned skating on their ponds due to liability concerns. In the summer months, DPW workers maintain the road to the pond and pick up trash. Last year, they even removed a tree that had fallen on the pond.
