Fresno
One of the best things to do in Fresno is take a drive through its beautiful almond orchards. During mid-February to early March, you can see the blossoms of over 200 varieties of trees. It’s an inexpensive day trip that’s also a great way to learn about the region’s agriculture. Stop by Hillcrest Tree Farm or La Haciendita for a day of fun and learning. You can also visit the Fresno Discovery Center, which has numerous hands-on exhibits.
If you’re looking to shop, Fresno has plenty of shopping opportunities. The River Park Shopping Center offers a variety of goods and features Macy’s, REI, and Target. You’ll also find over 30 restaurants and a movie theater. There’s plenty of parking at this mall, and public transportation is available in the area.
The Meux Home Museum, a beautifully restored 1800s Victorian mansion, is another place to visit in the city. This house has period furnishings and a garden in the back. You can even take a tour and enjoy its 16 rooms.
